A New Year, A New Dawn and a New Decade…

Welcome to 2020 and hope that you all had a great 2019!

New Year is always a time for resolutions and changes to be made. While this may be cliche, a time of reflection for goals and what we want from our lives is always important, so what better time to do this than the start of the New Year?! Now is a good time to think about what you want to achieve and set up a plan to achieve it.

If you don’t have a plan and a goal, what are you working towards?

It doesn’t have to be anything major, maybe just to be lighter and stronger, or heavier and stronger, or faster, fitter or healthier. Maybe it’s a lifestyle change you’re looking for?

Whatever it is, think about it and write it down. Now go into it a little further and breakdown a deadline. A year from now, 6 months from now and 3 months from now. Break your goal down into achievable chunks through these periods and now we have a template for your goal.

How will you achieve this goal? Write down your plan of action, whether this be more gym time, less nights out, earlier nights, you get the picture. Also write down things that may stop you from achieving your goals, work, weather, events etc. Think of people who will be able to support you, gym staff, friends, family, colleagues…

Now you should have a good breakdown of what was previously a simple goal. Without looking into a goal in detail you wont take it seriously and are much less likely to stick to it, in fact the first speed bump usually put us off the path and we forget it even existed.

So if you do have a goal in ,mind for this year, make a plan and stick to it!
